CONCERNING THE ARTIST
Johannes Holt Iversen (b. 1989) is a danish painter and sculptor recently graduated from the fine arts academy Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Johannes Holt Iversen works within the border of figurative narration and spontaneous abstraction, his works often involves his multi cultural neighbourhood in Amsterdam Nieuw-West or takes reminisces into Scandinavian expressionism depicting admiral figures or curvy landscapes. In 2018 Johannes Holt Iversen was invited to do an exhibition at the Glassbox Gallery in Paris, France which lead to his first solo exhibition internationally in Paris the year after. As well as participated in the danish TV-program series "The Great Masterpiece Challenge" in collaboration with CHPEA Museum Herning through the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. In 2019 Johannes Holt Iversens works from his series Lascaux 1.0 beta was acquired for the Danish National Art Collection by the Danish Arts Council and the Danish Arts Foundation, furthermore he won the Italian-based Galleria Banditto Main Residency Art Price for his new findings in contemporary painting.
